“Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk to you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Within the sound of silence”
-Simon & Garfunkel-
From a very young age Johann had a love for music and entertaining people with little performances. In Primary school he enjoyed the stage, singing and acting in Musicals like the Pied Piper of Hamelin. In High School he avoided the performing arts scared of what his peers might think. His only stage was in the privacy of his shower.
Johann then started working as a barman at a pub where they had karaoke evenings. It is there where he decided to pick up a guitar for the first time. “House of the rising Sun” was the first song he learned to play and bought his first cheap guitar at Cash Crusaders. It was a Ritmiller with nylon strings. Unfortunately the guitar gathered dust, Johann lost interest and eventually gave the guitar to his sister.
Years went by and Johann forgot about making music or learning to play the guitar until his mother asked him to sing at his brothers wedding. To her surprise Johann said yes and he then went for professional singing lessons with Coenie Naude from C-Sharp Production. https://soundbetter.com/profiles/13524-c-sharp-productions Johann realised that he had a God given talent and decided to pursue this love for singing. Johann decided to by himself a Cort Acoustic guitar from Harry Green and started going for lessons with Dewald Hattingh.
Johann wrote his first song with the help of Coenie Naude called “Rambo se boetie” and they are currently working on his 1st single. Johann is continuously writing and finds his inspiration from his loved ones. His mother is his biggest fan and continuously pushing him to pursue this talent. Johann’s style is Classic Pop Rock Crossover.
